This is the best colored pencil drawing pic I've ever seen. (I'm really not sucking up or joking...it really is!!) How did you get all of the colors to show up so good?

Well, the first step is to color HARD with your colored pencils (at least where you want it to show up). Otherwise nothing can save you. Next when you're scanning, there's usually some tabs that you can adjust called Highlights/Shadows/Midtones. It depends on your model of scanner, so you may have to search around a bit to find it. But it SHOULD be there. Mines looks like this: [link]
Then just play around with them until they look good!
