For the *BxL-Fans contest: "IN MEMORY OF"

No, it is not two L's. The one in the front is BB (Beyond Birthday) from the novel Another Note - The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. The flame is very significant...

Tried to portray their actual personalities from the book, not fan made ones. I don't know when the fad first started, but BB doesn't wear bloody/jammy shirts. XD He's actually very clean... And I don't know why, but I drew this at 11" x17"... =w= ;

Another Note is a prequel to the Death Note series narrated by Mello but from Misora Naomi's POV. I think Nisioisin did an awesome job keeping the mind-bending guessing games fresh and unique (Akazukin Chacha...XD I defy you! I only own volumes 1 & 2! )! The novel felt much more like a detective chase than the original series.. L is very distant and felt very professional, while BB seemed to take on L's cute quirks and expressions. *3*

When I read the prologue to Another Note, BB seemed like such a sick and deranged person to me, but when I got to the end, I just felt so many emotions I actually cried (a little). Even now, whenever I think of B, all these emotions rise up. It's not as simple as pity or love or even obsession...His need to surpass L is so potent, sometimes I feel like I can connect with him completely, sometimes I don't understand him at all. It's a pretty strong mask. Although he is a horrible murderer, I think inside he is very childish and pure...to go such lengths for such an immature goal?
